Last Friday, all of my co-workers and I went to Paint the Towne for a branch outing. I'm not the best artist, but I think I did really well on the painting. Here's some pictures for you all. Enjoy! :)

Life Changing Moment for a Veteran from the Vietnam War!
Hey everyone! I want to share with you about an interaction I had today with a member. This morning, a member came into our branch wanting to withdrawal money from his account. I noticed the U.S. Navy hat he was wearing and asked him if he served in the military. He responded "yes" and told me about his service in Vietnam. I saw his face light up with happiness when talking to him about Vietnam. Before he left, I remembered a co-worker gave me some stars that were cut from "retired" flown American flags. I pulled one out from my cash drawer and gave it to him. He had the biggest smile on his face! I thanked him for his service at the end of the transaction. I noticed how happy I made him when he left. I thought to myself about what a difference I made in his life today, even though the conversation started with a simple question about the hat he was wearing. So, if you happen to help someone who served in the military, I challenge you to have a conversation with them about it. Don't forget to thank our veterans and the ones who are currently serving for our country!

CUBE Meeting
Hello everyone! I wanted to share with you about an exciting opportunity I experienced last Tuesday. On April 7th, I had the chance to attend our 1st Quarter CUBE meeting for all of the Credit Unions in Kansas. The event featured an awesome presentation about "leadership" from the Kansas Leadership Center team in downtown Wichita. I learned that "leadership" is an activity, not a position. The KLC staff talked about how leadership starts with a question. Leader's must use these three questions which are stimulate the conversation, engage others, and move forward. In order to be a leader, leader's must diagnose the situation, manage themselves, energize others, and intervene skillfully. I can't wait for the next CUBE meeting for 2nd Quarter!
Here's a photo of Meritrust Credit Union employees, including myself, who attend the CUBE meeting.
